1. How do filters work and why do they wear out?

3. Microbiological risk – the invisible enemy

Activated carbon is excellent at removing chemicals, but once its sorption properties are exhausted, it becomes an excellent breeding ground for bacteria. Biofilm —a slimy layer of bacteria—can begin to form on the walls of old cartridges and inside the housing.
Regular servicing involves not only replacing the cartridge but also disinfecting the system. Neglecting replacement intervals (usually every six months for pre-filters) drastically increases the risk of drinking water contaminated with bacteria.
4. Main filters (pipe) – protection of the entire installation
Filters installed at the water inlet to your home (e.g. string filters, foam filters) are designed to protect your plumbing system, bathroom faucets and household appliances.
Ignoring their exchange leads to:
- Huge pressure drops – water barely flows in the shower.
- Cartridge cracks – under the pressure of water, an old, clogged filter can burst, releasing months of accumulated dirt directly into your washing machine, dishwasher, and expensive fixtures.
